5 easy recipes to try this Rakhsha Bandhan

Being an Indian we experience and celebrate a variety of festivals here. It feels amazing to see how everyone in India belonging to different caste and religions celebrate all the festivals together. Whether it be workplace, school or housing society, everyone join together and enjoy. But sometimes, due to some reason, we are not able to celebrate such auspicious festivals with our close ones. Indians settle far from away in UK, USA Canada, etc. for work leaving behind their family and relatives.

We miss our family and relatives much more during such occasions. With Raksha Bandhan round the corner, you can imagine how a sister in India must be missing her brother working in UK or how a brother in India must be missing his sister married and settled in Canada.

I would still say we are quite lucky to be born in 21st century as techno logy has really helped us fill that distance with video calls and courier services. We can always send Rakhi to India from USA or any other country. Even sending gifts and Rakhi from USA to India or from UK, Canada or any other country is easier now. Gone are the days when we had to wait for someone to travel to abroad to send something to our family member living there. Things are much more easier and quick now. The physical distance has now been met by virtual connection.

Now coming back to today’s post, all our Indian festivals are incomplete without sweets. So here I’m compiling my sweets recipes for you all to try this Raksha Bandhan:

1. Rawa Laddoo

rawa-laddu

One of my favourite sweets and something I haven’t made in a long time. This Rawa Laddoo recipe is very simple and can be prepared in 30 – 45 minutes. It feels awesome when a dish which requires so less time and hard work tastes so yummy! Also, it contains very less ghee as compared to other laddoos.

2. Besan Laddoo

Something very basic and which is often prepared in many festivals. Besan Laddoo can also be prepared on Raksha Bandhan. In this besan laddoo, I have shared dry roasting method of roasting the flour, instead of roasting in ghee. This is require little less hard work and time. I had shared this recipe on my blog on around Raksha Bandhan of 2014. How time flies! Can’t believe this blog is now 6 years old!

3. Instant Coconut Laddoo

If you are in a hurry but still want to make some sweet dish at home, this laddoo is best option. This Instant coconut laddoo recipe has milk powder in it and for the binding, only milk is used. No ghee or oil is added except for greasing your hand while making laddoo. This recipe can be prepared in minutes but it taste so yummy that your guests will finish them all.

4. Coconut Laddoo with Milkmaid

If you have a little extra time and you are a person to prepare things in advance, you may try this Moong Dal Halwa on Raksha Bandhan along with some laddoos. Moong Dal Halwa involves soaking of moong dal so preparation time is increased.
